Quiz Maker
Write a quiz, put it on the big screen, and everyone plays on their phone.
Make your own quiz in a couple of minutes — for a birthday, a class, a team meeting or family night — then run it live. The host’s screen shows a join code; everyone opens pickagame.lol on their phone, types the code and their name, and they’re in. No app, no account.
Each question appears on the big screen with a countdown and four coloured answers, each with its own shape so they’re easy to tell apart from across the room. Players tap the matching button on their phone. Right answers score up to 1,000 points, more the faster you are, and a streak of right answers shows a little flame.
After every question the screen shows how everyone answered and the top five so far; at the end, a podium. Quizzes you make are saved on your device, and you can share a link so someone else can host your quiz too.
How it works
- Make a quiz: up to 50 questions, two to four answers each, a time limit per question. Or start from a ready-made one.
- Press "Host live". Put the screen where everyone can see it.
- Players open pickagame.lol/…/quiz-maker on their phones, type the code and a name.
- Start when everyone’s in. Questions reveal on their own when time runs out or everyone has answered.
- Points are for right answers, with a bonus for speed. The podium comes at the end.
Common questions
- How many people can play?
- Up to sixty players per session, each on their own phone or laptop. The host’s screen can be a laptop on a TV, a projector, or simply the organiser’s phone.
- How are points worked out?
- A right answer is worth between 500 and 1,000 points: the full thousand for an instant answer, sliding down to 500 at the buzzer. Wrong answers score nothing, so being right always beats being quick.
- Do players need to install anything?
- No. They open the site in their phone’s browser, type the six-letter code, and pick a name. If a phone reloads, it rejoins with the same score.
- Can I reuse or share my quiz?
- Every quiz you make is saved in your browser, ready to host again. "Share" copies a link that opens a copy of your quiz for someone else to edit or host.
- Is it good for classrooms?
- Yes — it’s built for exactly that: short rounds, a clear join code, answers with shapes as well as colours, and a scoreboard after every question to keep the energy up.
A live session keeps each player’s name and answers on our server only for the few hours the game is on, then deletes them. Quizzes you make stay in your browser unless you share them. Please don’t put personal information in quiz questions or player names.
