Snakes & Ladders

The board everyone grew up with. On one phone, against Pip, or online with a phone each.

Roll, climb the ladders, slide down the snakes, and land on exactly 100 to win. Play on one phone passed round the table, fill empty seats with Pip, or open an online table so everyone plays on their own phone from wherever they are.

Classic is the game as you remember it. Fun Mode adds card squares: land on one and you draw a Shield that stops the next snake, a Double that rolls two dice, or a Swap that trades places with the player just ahead. Small decisions, big swings, and nobody is safe until 100.

How it works

  • Press Roll on your turn and your token walks the squares. A ladder’s foot takes you up; a snake’s head takes you down.
  • You need exactly 100 to win. Roll too many and you bounce back off the last square.
  • Rolling a six gives you another roll — but a third six in a row ends your turn.
  • Fun Mode: land on a ? square to draw a card. Shield works by itself on the next snake; Double and Swap are played before you roll. You can hold two cards.
  • Online, the table rolls the dice for everyone, and a turn left too long is played automatically so the game never stalls.

Common questions

How do I play online with friends?
Choose “Open an online table”, type your name and send the link (or the four-letter code) to your friends. Each of them opens it on their own phone and joins. The host can add Pip to fill seats, then starts the game.
What are the cards in Fun Mode?
Shield 🛡️ cancels the next snake you land on, automatically. Double 🎲 makes your next roll two dice added together. Swap 🔁 trades places with whoever is nearest ahead of you. Draw one by landing on a ? square; you can hold two.
Who is Pip?
The site’s mascot, playing as a bot. Pip rolls on its own turn, and in Fun Mode plays its cards when they are worth it — a Swap when it is far behind, a Double when the finish is still far away.
What happens if someone leaves an online game?
Their turns are played automatically after a short while, so the rest of the table can carry on. If they come back on the same phone, they are still in their seat.
Is anything saved?
Online tables last a few hours and keep a count of who has won, so a rematch means something. Nothing else is kept, and there are no accounts.

A game of chance, for fun. The dice are random — online they are rolled on the server, not on anyone’s phone — and no amount of blowing on them helps.
